Terms of Service
Last updated: August 4, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of CritGuard, a GitHub App that reviews pull requests for production-impacting business-logic risks. By installing or using CritGuard, you agree to these Terms.
The service
CritGuard analyzes pull request changes and may post review comments on GitHub. Reviews are assistive only. CritGuard does not replace human review, testing, security review, or your own judgment before merging or deploying code.
Eligibility and accounts
You must have authority to install CritGuard on the GitHub account or organization and repositories you select. You are responsible for complying with GitHub’s terms and for the repositories you connect.
Free plan and limits
Unless we state otherwise, CritGuard is offered on a free plan with a daily limit (currently up to 10 unique pull requests reviewed per repository per UTC day). Re-reviews of the same PR on the same day generally do not consume another slot. When the limit is reached, CritGuard may skip a full review and post a short notice instead. Limits may change.
Acceptable use
- Do not abuse, overload, or reverse engineer the service beyond what the law allows.
- Do not use CritGuard to violate others’ rights, exfiltrate secrets, or bypass security controls.
- Do not attempt to circumvent quotas or access controls.
Your content and permissions
You grant CritGuard permission to access repository and pull request data via the GitHub App permissions you approve, and to send necessary content to subprocessors (including an LLM provider) to generate reviews. You represent that you have the rights needed to grant that access.
Third-party services
CritGuard depends on GitHub and on third-party LLM and hosting providers. Their availability, policies, and outages are outside our full control. Your use of GitHub remains subject to GitHub’s terms.
No warranty
CritGuard is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Findings may be wrong, incomplete, or miss important risks.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CritGuard and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or business, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to CritGuard will not exceed US $0 while the service is provided free of charge (or the amount you paid us for CritGuard in the 12 months before the claim, if any).
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CritGuard’s operator from claims arising out of your misuse of the service, your repositories, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using CritGuard by uninstalling the GitHub App. We may suspend or discontinue the service, or your access, at any time (for example for abuse, legal reasons, or operational needs).
Changes
We may update these Terms or the service. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date on this page. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
